NQABENI, SOUTH AFRICA - AUGUST 20: Bawinile Zulu, age 11, (center) sitting on the floor in class in her school with friends on August 20, 2002 in Nqabeni, a rural area outside Port Shepstone, in Southern Natal Province, South Africa. Bawinilie was raped by a neighbor?s son a couple of weeks earlier in the small village. As a traditional Zulu area, most things are solved through negotiation and compensation. The girl?s father was compensated with two cows for the breaking of the girl's virginity. Bawinilie just started in another school, as the father believes that she might get teased in the nearby school. The 22-year old suspect is arrested and is awaiting trial. South Africa has one of the highest rates of rapes against women and children in the world..Photo: Per-Anders Pettersson/ Agentur Focus.....
