Jean Christome, a caretaker at the Kanyamanza Genocide memorial in Kigali work underground where thousands of victims of the Genocide in 1994 are buried on February 25, 2003. About 100.000 prisoners accused of the genocide are still in prison. About 800.000 mainly Tutsis and moderate Hutus were killed in about one hundred days in 1994. Rwanda is currently trying to cope with these huge problems and some prisoners that have confessed to crimes can be tried in village trials, known as Gacacas. (Photo by: Per-Anders Pettersson)
