MBANDAKA, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO APRIL 14: Tabo Evariste, age 58, relaxes outside his house on April 14, 2006 in the port in Mbandaka, Congo, DRC. Mr. Evariste is a fisherman, and started fishing with his father when he was two years old. The port is a big trading point, and about 700 kilometers from the capital Kinshasa. Many villagers come here to trade goods. The Congo River is a lifeline for millions of people, who depend on it for transport and trade. Congo is planning to hold general elections by July 2006, the first democratic elections in forty years. (Photo by Per-Anders Pettersson)..
