dicorwa00064.Country Rwanda. Children swimming and playing close to Nkomano Bridge, in Ntyazo, a rural area outside Butare, Rwanda. About one hundred people were killed and dumped in the water close to the bridge during the Genocide in 1994. This is one of many sights in Rwanda where people were killed during the Genocide. Now itÕs a popular rover to swim and fish in for local children.About 100.000 prisoners accused of the genocide are still sitting in prisons 9 years later. Rwanda is currently trying to cope with these huge problems and some prisoners that have confessed to crimes can be tried in village trials, Gacacas, who are now operating all over the country..©Per-Anders Pettersson/iAfrika Photos
