dicuinit00020 Culture Initiation Xhosa boyy going trough the traditional manhood ceremony in Tshatshu, South Africa. An old tradition in making men out of boys in the Xhosa culture. These boys have been circumsised a day earlier and are attending to their wounds. The first weeks is critical because of infections. Some initiates get sever wounds, and some even lose their penis in the hospitals..The ceremony last for about 3-7 weeks, where they stay in huts in the bush removed from family and normal life.
