Sibobalwe Miwonyelano, age 5 months, sleeps in a cardboard box while her mother sell sheep heads at a roadside market on October 12, 2003 at Town 2 section in Khayelitsha, a poor township outside Cape Town, South Africa. The mother is trying to make ends meet by selling boiled sheep heads, a traditional Xhosa dish, for about 2 US$ apiece. It's estimated that over one million people live here, most of them under appalling conditions in shacks with no running water or electricity. (Photo by: Per-Anders Pettersson).
