JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA - MARCH 6: Residents enjoy the view in a newly completed apartment building on March 6, 2009, in downtown Johannesburg, South Africa. Thousands of apartments are being built as older buildings have been converted. Many people are returning to downtown Johannesburg to work and live. The area was a no go zone for years after dark as it was infested with crime. A huge advertising billboard is fitted on one of the buildings. South Africa is hosting the FIFA 2010 World Cup in several cities. This is the biggest sporting event to ever have been staged on the African continent and the country is upgrading hotels, infrastructure and airports leading up to the June 2010 event.
