She's infected by the Aids virus and her husband died of the disease in 1997. Two of her four children are also infected. She recently accepted that she is sick and can't work or take care of her children anymore. Zethu, age, and the oldest daughter have run away to Durban with a boyfriend living the mother in this rural area with no help. South Africa has one of the highest growth rates of HIV Aids in the world and is fighting hard to educate the population on safe sex practices and the importance of abstinence for young people.
