Murangira Emanuel, a Genocide survivor, at Murambi memorial site on February 14, 2003 outside Gikongoro, Rwanda. Murangira lost his wife and children, and he was shoot in the head. About 800.000 Tutsis and moderate Hutus were killed in one hundred days in 1994. About 100.000 prisoners accused of the genocide are still in prison awaiting trial. Rwanda is currently trying to cope with these huge problems and some prisoners that confessed to crimes are tried in village trials, known as Gacacas. (Photo by: Per-Anders Pettersson)
